Norman Wilder Forest is located on Hwy. 176 between Saluda and Tryon. Look for a sign that says “Norman Wilder Forest” in yellow lettering on a split rail fence on the north side of the road (the side opposite the river). There is a small gravel parking area at the trailhead.

BRAG is providing volunteer trail maintenance/improvements to help sustain developed trails and possibly reopen trails closed from the 2018 landslides.

There are 1.4 miles of trail hiking through 185 acres of Conserving Carolina protected forest; hiking alongside creeks that feed into the North Pacolet River. The forest is home to wide variety of wildlife, third-generation growth trees, and great views of a 50 foot cliff
